“Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.”
Psalms 102:25
When we think of heaven, what picture comes to mind? A beautiful one, right?
In fact, when someone describes a place as heavenly, they are talking about something so beautiful that it takes your breath away, sight to behold.
Then it occurred to me, if God is the One who laid the foundations of the heavens and the earth, then He must be artistically good. Just look at His work .
Here is something interesting. Whenever we want to use the services of an artisan, or anyone who provides a service, we often ask to see their previous work. Whether it is an architect, a fashion designer, or an interior decorator, we want to see what they have done before. Their work gives us confidence that they can deliver. Sometimes, it is even out of the work they deliver that we recommend them to others.
So, if life ever puts us in a place where trusting God becomes difficult, maybe we should look around. Look at the heavens. Look at the earth. Look at the beauty, the order, and the detail in everything He has made. His creation reminds us of who He is.
If God could create something this beautiful, then surely He is more than capable of designing our lives. The One who laid the foundations of the earth knows how to direct the course of your life. He knows how to make something glorious out of it.
Today, I just want to recommend this Master Craftsman.
Look at His work. Let creation remind you that the God who created the heavens is the same God directing your life. If He can hang the stars in place and sustain the universe by His power, then you can trust Him with your future.
His portfolio speaks for itself.
And perhaps that is why Scripture reminds us, "The heavens are the work of Your hands".
